Graduate Student Admissions Update

grad admissions update

The current COVID-19 outbreak has caused colleges and universities to change their normal processes for new students and potential applicants. At this time, Cleveland State University wants you to know that we understand the challenges that you may be facing and we are here to help you as you consider becoming a Viking. At CSU you will receive an outstanding education by some of the finest faculty in the world and an engaging college experience second to none. With this in mind we have made changes to assist you in the admissions process, given the current challenges:

1.    If you apply to Cleveland State for the Summer 2020 or Fall 2020 semesters, we are waiving all application fees moving forward. If you are applying via the CSU Viking App, select "paper check by mail" on the payment screen to submit your application and our team will handle the rest.

2.    We understand the challenges associated with the cancellation of testing dates for entrance exams such as the GRE and GMAT, so we are waiving the standardized test score requirements if you are unable to provide a test score.

3.    We also understand that you might not be able to secure a transcript because your previously attended institutions are presently closed or have limited services.  To accommodate these circumstances, we are now accepting unofficial transcripts.  Final official transcripts will be required prior to attendance or as soon as they are accessible. We haven’t changed our standards, but given the current situation, we will not hold up your application for these documents.  You can upload your unofficial transcripts by logging into your Viking App. For steps on how upload your unofficial transcripts, click here

Although today has its challenges, our staff is here to help you move forward with your plans for graduate study. If you have any questions at all, our staff is ready and willing to assist.
